Aqua Enviro, organiser of the European Biosolids and Bioresources Conference and Exhibition (EBBC) proudly announces the release of its 2025 Call for Abstracts. To mark the 30th anniversary of the event, professionals, researchers and strategic thinkers are invited to submit abstracts that reflect the sector’s evolving challenges and transformative opportunities.
Scheduled to take place on 11-12th November in Manchester and online, the EBBC is a premier gathering for professionals and stakeholders involved in the biosolids and bioresources sector. Through its emphasis on innovation, sustainability, and practical solutions, the conference has played a pivotal role in shaping best practices and advancing technologies in biosolids treatment and bioresources recovery over the decades.
The Call for Abstracts invites submissions from individuals and organisations working in areas such as anaerobic digestion, resource recovery, circular economy, process emissions, environmental sustainability, and more. Abstracts are encouraged to focus on innovative research, case studies, practical applications, and emerging trends within the biosolids and bioresources domain.
Matthew Smyth, Chair of the EBBC Organising Committee, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming event: “The European Biosolids and Bioresources Conference focusses on the pressing challenges facing our industry and practical examples of how we’re tackling them. We’re excited to see the diverse perspectives and insights that will be shared through the Call for Abstracts in this milestone year.”
Submissions are welcomed on a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:
- Advanced Thermal Conversion & landbank challenges
- The Circular Economy (From Source to Land & Sea)
- The Industrial Emissions Directive – Meeting the Challenges
- Process Emissions
- Health & Safety
- Nitrogen & Phosphorus Recovery
- Advancing Anaerobic Digestion
- Biogas Valorisation
- Thickening, Dewatering & Liquor Treatment
- The Bigger Picture – Strategic positioning and thought leadership
Abstract submissions will undergo a rigorous peer-review process by a panel of experts in the field. Accepted abstracts will be presented as oral presentations or posters during the conference programme, providing presenters with a valuable opportunity to showcase their work to an international audience of industry professionals, researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders.
The deadline for abstract submissions is 6th June and notifications of acceptance will be sent out by 18th July. For more information on abstract submission guidelines and conference registration, please visit the official EBBC website at https://european-biosolids.com/
