Selling innovative water tech products worldwide is easier said than done. It requires research, testing facilities, knowledge of local markets, contacts and much more. Water Alliance in the Netherlands supports small and medium sized enterprises (SME’s) in Europe to go globally. A valuable network of waterhubs on other continents are the stepping stones for market entries everywhere.
“As far as I know the WaterCampus in Leeuwarden is the best water hub in Europe to connect from and to the world”, says manager Business Development Alex Berhitu from Water Alliance. More than 150 water companies and 20 knowledge centres are permanently connected in Leeuwarden to share water knowledge and experience. During the European Water Tech Week (24-27 September) Water Alliance will guide the 500 delegates toward to new business opportunities.

A successful hub knows how to initiate fruitful cooperation between international partners. They are able to make smart connections and shorten the time-to-market for innovative products. Some time ago Water Alliance introduced six Dutch water technology companies to a drinking water production plant in Akron in the United States. Berhitu: “This plant was affected by toxic algae and was looking for solutions. The Dutch companies were able to present their technology in the US and are now providing their solutions.”
Extend global network
During the European Water Technology week the European water hub will present the latest developments in water technology. “During the week we want to intensify our cooperation with the water in the US, Israel, Singapore and Korea. Thanks to these connections European water companies will be able to establish contacts through these water hubs.
