Since the beginning of Octobre Oliver Loebel is based as Secretary General at the EurEau secretariat in Brussels.“Moving into the water sector presents many exciting opportunities. There are plenty of challenges that need to be met: access to water, water quality and managing our resources effectively are just some of these”, stated the new Secretary General. The new Secretary General is the successor of delegate secretary General Neil Dhot.

“Given that the European Commission will review the EU water policy in the next few years, this is the right time to take advantage of the momentum and lead the organisation in shaping water legislation now and for future generations.” Oliver joins the water sector from the polyurethane insulation sector, where he was Managing Director for PU Europe for eight years.

Loebel also worked as director for sector policy at the European SME association UEAPME and represented the building services contractors at European level through CEETB. Oliver worked with the European Commission between 1994-97, developing support measures for Europe’s skilled crafts and trades and small enterprises.
