Using water multiple times for different purposes will add value to it. To reuse water it is crucial to invest in sensor networks, big data, modelling/analysis, and smart governance. During the workshop Industry Water ‘From Single Use to Integrated Management’ different stakeholders decided to start with an action plan that will be presented on the EIP water conference in Porto in September.

The European Technology Platform for Water WssTP and the European Technology Platform for Sustainable Chemistry SusChem organised the workshop that took place on the 20th of April in Brussels. The focus was on the differences in water quality and the different requirements of the water users. Working together means optimizing water use and thus adding value to water.

Challenges
The workshop succeeded in gathering challenges and perspectives on the management of smart industrial water reuse and featured contributions from the European Commission, the industry and water utilities. The presentations are available through the website of WssTP.
